When we love someone, we usually want to know that person more… so if we love God, shouldn’t we want to learn about and understand Him better? It’s also important to seek Him because true increase in our knowledge of Him and His Holiness brings us to repentance. He even says “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
What better way to learn about God, and seek His face than by reading His very words? “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful in teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness” (1 Timothy 3:16)
