Former Middleweight Champion Jermaine Taylor TKO Jessie Nicklow in 8th Round

Former middleweight boxing king Jermain Taylor won his return to the ring stopping Jessie Nicklow in 8th round in Cabazon, California, USA. The win gave Taylor a new sign of hope to resurrect his boxing career after 26 months of temporary hiatus after of his poor performances in the Super Six Middleweight bouts of Showtime promotions later won by his countryman Andre Ward.

Taylor started strong and sustained it throughout the bout though he lost a point in 6th round when he hit his opponent after the bell rang to end the bout. He confessed in the post fight conference that early on, he injured his right hand. He came in strong in the 8th round pummeling Nicklow with his vaunted left jab and right straight, and referee Ray Corona thought he has seen enough and stopped the fight but boxing fans saw it as premature stoppage.

Jermain Taylor looked rusty but it’s a good fight for him as he take the slow road back to boxing stardom. JT’s handlers should not rush him to fight dangerous opponents soon because he will surely be knocked-out again as evidenced by seeing him hit several times by Jessie Nicklow in this bout.
