ASUS’ Eee Pad EP101TC dropped Windows 7 Tablet OS in favor of Google’s Android OS






ASUS Eee Pad EP101TCWow! This is indeed another slap-in-the-face of Microsoft as ASUS dropped Windows 7 on their Eee Pad EP101TC in favor of Google’s Android OS. Originally, ASUS considered Microsoft Windows 7 as the OS platform but the decision was later changedm, and it does not require anyone to be a genius to understand the reason of the dropped. Simply, ASUS’ opted an Open-source OS which will give them more flexibility when it comes to extensibility of the gadget and probably cut-down on production cost.

Asus has been successful in the world of Laptop computers based on reports and surveys. And now Asus’ Eee Pad EP101TC can be another revolutionary gadget which made of a 12.2mm thick touchscreen tablet Asus’ announced at Computex earlier this year.

According to reports, ASUS is waiting for Android 3.0 Gingerbread to release before CES 2011. As ASUS is planning to announce their tablet in CES in next year January. ASUS is currently using Froyo for their prototype, but expecting that the ASUS Eee Pad EP101TC will likely ship with 3.0.

EEE Pad EP121 supports the latest apps with Windows 7 Home Premium. The battery can last up to 10 hours. Therefore, the enthusiasts who are busy doing their activities at home or those who are planning for a trip are capable of enjoying more excitement during their trip. More interestingly, the tablet is supported with a webcam and at least one SUB port. The second tablet, EEE Pad EP101TC, comes with a bit smaller dimension with 10” screen and Windows Embedded Compact 7.
