Miss Philippines’ Biggest Mistake: Being Perfect with No Major Problem

venusMs Philippines Venus Raj was certainly one of the best girls in the Ms Universe Beauty Pageant. Being number one among the top choices of people in the internet, Venus Raj probably and already has her edge amongst the many participants. Venus Raj carried her self all the way, from swimsuit to evening gown competition. Venus Raj was a sure bet for the Ms Universe title this 2010.

The Goddess

Though Venus Raj’s beauty doesn’t resemble that of a goddess, but she has it. The looks, the walks and the talks of a soon to be Ms Universe are all within her pouch. The smartness and wit of Ms Miriam Quiambao matches hers, the beauty of  Ms Universe 1969 Ms Gloria Diaz resembles hers. There’s no need to elaborate more depiction about her beauty. There’s no question she was qualified and is capable to be one of the most gorgeous Ms Universe beauty.

One major thing that went wrong

One thing went wrong, one major thing…the Question and Answer portion. Venus Raj made her biggest mistake ever in her 22 years of existence by answering no when she answered the question “What is one big mistake that you’ve made in your life ?”.  Well, is this for real? Even a 3 year old child commits mistakes! I felt humiliated that she was addressed as Ms Perfect. How in the world that she hadn’t any mistake at all. Whoa! That was her biggest mistake!

I for one regretted so much that she didn’t make it to the top. Was it because of nervousness? Hope it was….Because sometimes admitting nothing is a simple way of showing  excessive self-esteem or  conceit.

Some sayings about what Pride is.

Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves; vanity, to what we would have others think of us. – Jane Austen

In general, pride is at the bottom of all great mistakes. – John Ruskin

Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real – Thomas Merton

Pride comes before a fallProverbs 16:18
