Kris Aquino Yap, the Oprah of the Philippines and sister to Philippines’ president-elect Noynoy Aquino finally gave her word regarding her marital status with her husband James Yap-a popular basketball player. Kris confirmed that her marriage to James Yap has come to an end. “With finality I can say, ako sumuko na (I have given up),” Aquino said on ABS-CBN’s “The Buzz” on Sunday.
Rumors of the separation first came out last week after Kris failed to attend an event in Cebu due to marital problems, according to her “The Buzz” co-host Boy Abunda. People started to think that there is something going on her marriage especially when her two non-showbiz sisters commented about their youngest sister present situation, a thing that they usually wouldn’t do.
Ballsy Aquino-Cruz confirmed that Kris needed to fix something and that she likened Kris’ situation with what married couples are having. That there isn’t a perfect relationship after all. Pinky Aquino-Abellada also asked to understand Kris situation and that she is having “problems in life”. Pinky also asked prayers for her sister Kris.
For almost 5 years of a rocky relationship to husband James, Kris finally thought of having her marriage annulled. After years of trying to fix Kris has put finality to it. But reasons for the seeming unsuccessful marriage is something she refused to clarify.
“I will suspend being active on twitter, ” After this tweet on one of the biggest social networking site Tweeter, this is what Kris said; “It doesn’t make sense for me to leave SNN & Buzz & keep this avenue open for people to speculate & judge. Sometimes being quiet (obviously difficult for me) is the only prudent course when u r the sister of the country’s president elect. Thanks to all who followed my tweets,” Kris.
Kris has been the envy of many Filipino women. Aside from being born in a prominent and rich family. Daughter of the late senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, recognized as the most prominent and most dynamic opposition leader of his generation, Hero to Filipinos. Once presidential daughter to Former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino-Philippines 11th president. And sister of Noynoy Aquino-the fifteenth President of the Philippines.
Kris has been so blessed with so many things. With almost everything thinkable. Career wise, she’s on top of it. Fame, a popular product endorser, a woman of intelligence and admirable wit. What else could she ever ask for? I admire her, though sometimes i got annoyed by some of her “not so good actions”.
Well, maybe there is a truth about this saying” you can’t have everything”. In this life God must have designed every human life with some emptiness so He can have it filled whenever He has an opportunity. I am hoping that somehow Kris will obtain a total breakthrough over this situation which i believe she eventually will…and if things between her and James could no longer be patched up, may she find the true and only love she deserves.
