If you have more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved, then you are Polyamorous or you are in a Polyamory relationship considered to be one of the more than 500,000 polymorous relationships in the United States alone.
Polyamory is different from polygamy where the latter refers to multiple marriage – one man with several wives. On the other hand, Polyamory is more of a concept of gender equality, self-determination, free choice for all involved, mutual trust, equal respect among partners, the intrinsic value of love, the ideal of compersion, and other mostly secular ideals.
To elaborate it further specifically on the word compersion, compersion is a non-sexual state of kindhearted or compassionate happiness and joy experienced when an individual’s romantic partner experiences happiness and joy through an outside source, including, but not limited to, another romantic interest.
Study shows that the implications of the Polyamorous will have an adventurous love life, and maybe, a roller-coaster ride if not complicated.
In 1956, Kerista Commune was organized where members believed in group marriage which is exactly what Polyamorous means. Founded by John Peltz “Bro Jud” Presmont, Kerista became so popular where members shared income and could choose whether or not to have outside paying jobs or work within the community. The kind of relationship inside the Kerista community therefore is a classic example of polyamorous which represents lifestyle revolving around the values of openness, negotiation between partners and respect.

Personally, I don’t subscribe to Polyamory or Polyamorous kind of relationship. Why? No matter how classic the motive would be, still, it strongly promotes infidelity or unfaithfulness to the other person involved in the relationship.
